Biography;

                Metta World Peace has a deep back round. Some of the situations he has been through are life changing, and some of the obstacles he has had to overcome are mentally draining.

                Metta was born in Queens, New York on November 13^th, 1979.  He grew up in the Queensbridge projects, one of the roughest areas in North America. He was raised in a three bedroom apartment with seventeen other family members and friends. Half way through his childhood there was a fire in his building and was moved, with everyone, to a one bedroom apartment. Growing up in a dangerous, sketchy neighbourhood he learnt how to fend for himself. He witnessed shootings, murders, fights, drug dealing, and more. Metta World Peace says that coming from that type of environment shaped how he plays basketball today.

During high school Metta played AAU club basketball with team mates Elton Brand (Philadelphia 79ers) and Lamar Odum (LA Lakers). These boys didn’t play normal basketball, they played Queens basketball. They played with so much effort and competiveness, that they would legitementally kill to win. Metta World Peace kept his head and was scouted and recognized by joining tournaments and playing in high level camps such as; Nike Pro City tournaments and Hoops for the Sun camps.

Outside of basketball Metta was married for six years (2003-2009). They had three children together; Sadie, Ron III, and Diamond. Metta has another son, Jeron, with his former high school girlfriend, Jennifer Palma.
